Section III: ML & XAI
Use artificial intelligence and machine-learning (ML) models to learn from data and generate predictions, classifications, and decisions. Use explainable AI (XAI) to clarify how data influence model outputs, identify potential sources of bias, and assess whether a model’s predictions are sufficiently reliable for decision-making.
Linking AI, ML, and XAI
Artificial intelligence (AI) develops systems that perform human-like cognitive tasks. Machine learning (ML), a subset of AI, learns patterns from data to make predictions or decisions, while explainable AI (XAI) helps users understand, assess, and trust those model outputs.
